The Biological Cause
Acne scars form when inflammation from a breakout damages the deeper layer of the skin. As it heals, fibrous bands tether the surface downward, leaving the pitted, uneven depressions that remain long after the acne itself is gone.

Because the damage sits deep in the dermis, creams and surface treatments simply can’t reach it — the skin has to be remodeled from within to lift those depressions.

Our Clinical Approach
At Kootenay Cosmetic Clinic we remodel scarred skin with the InMode Morpheus8 platform, which combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. It releases the tethered tissue and stimulates fresh collagen to fill the depressions from below, smoothing the surface gradually over a series of treatments.
